I still fall into the trap of buying things that I don't need, but lately I have been thinking and executing more on DIY projects that have really panned out well. One of the projects was a bookshelf made from milk crates. During my trip upstate 2 weekends ago, I rounded up a series of different crates through haggling and bartering. I think it turned out well, despite my uncanny ability to amass books that I will never read, which now overflow from the new bookshelf. The current thinking is to gift every book that I finish; good ones to friends, bad ones to charity.
Another project that I am working on involves reclaimed barn wood. The project is split into two parts: building a table & creating a series of signs. This newer project doesn't quite have a picture yet, but I do have 9 pieces that are ready to become a table and 3 thinner pieces that need some paint to become a sign. These projects will be finished by August, and hopefully a great photo will accompany its completion...hopefully.
Be well. Do good.
